Making an adoption plan for your child is an extraordinary gift of love, and we would be honored to be a part of that journey.  Our guiding principle has long been that family is created not by biology but by the decision to be family:  to love unconditionally even when things don’t go as planned, to celebrate each other’s victories and to comfort each other when things go wrong.

We try to honor that rule every day, and it has led us to really appreciate the fact that we have each other, and to look forward to the day when we will have a larger family around the table.

We put this website together to tell you a little bit about who we are.  We have completed an approved home study and are working with adoption attorneys Nina Rumbold and Denise Seidelman, who are both really easy to talk to.  If you think we might be the right family for your child then we hope you will contact us directly or through our attorneys, however you feel most comfortable.

Thanks, and we hope to hear from you!

Dear Expectant Mother and Family,

We are an energetic family of three and can’t wait to grow through adoption.

As a couple, we have been best friends and partners for 15 years, and happily married for 12.  We love exploring new places, learning new things, getting out in nature and just hanging out together.  When our son was born we discovered that doing these things with kids is even more fun, so now we can’t wait to bring home a new baby to share in our adventures (and our son can’t wait to be a big brother!).

They say that becoming a parent changes forever the way you see the world, and for us it really has been true.  In the four short years since our son was born, we have learned to question why one tree grows better branches for climbing than another; to sniff each tulip to see if one color smells different from the rest; and to test each matchbox car to see which one rolls farthest and fastest.  Our house is much louder than it used to be, filled with endless giggles, spontaneous dancing and random bursts of Jingle Bells (his favorite tune) -- no matter what the season.  And our son is constantly bringing new friends and neighbors into our lives and into our home, to laugh, learn and play together.

Cheryl is thrilled to get to enjoy these things full time, as a “stay at home mom”.  She loves coming up with creative ways to teach our son and his friends about everything from Bruce Springsteen to Beethoven, and from earthworms and seeds to climbable trees.  She loves being there to cheer him on when he tries new things.  And she has discovered that the time she spent working as a lawyer was good training for being a mom, because it takes all the creativity, persistence and humor you can come up with to stay out in front of a growing mind.

With your help we look forward to sharing these joys with another child or twins.  We promise to help your child discover his or her special gifts -- and to celebrate them.  We promise to love your child unconditionally, and to surround him or her with the support of our extended families.

And we promise that your child will enjoy the special love of having a sibling.  Our son is excited to take on the responsibility of being a “big brother” and looks forward to giving his sister or brother a bottle, and teaching him or her how to ride a bike without training wheels (though we explained that he’ll have to wait a bit on that one!).
