Our experiences have taught us that family is created not by biology but by the decision to be family: to love unconditionally even when things don’t go as planned, to celebrate each other’s victories and to comfort each other when things go wrong.
We try to honor that rule every day. It has led us to really appreciate the fact that we have each other, and to look forward to the day when we will have a larger family around the table.
Dear Expectant Mother and Family,
We are Cheryl and Erkki and we have been happily married for almost 13 years. We love exploring new places, learning new things and just spending time together.
When our son was born we discovered that doing these things with kids is even more fun, so now we can’t wait to bring home a new baby to share in our adventures. We are unable to have any more kids ourselves but we believe things happen for a reason, so we look forward to growing our family through adoption.
We put this website together to give you a glimpse into our family. As you will see, we love getting out in nature -- be it hiking, gardening or skiing. We also love exploring nearby New York City and traveling in the U.S. and abroad.
We love music and animals, and between the two, our house is always full of energy. And we are very close with our extended families, both in the U.S. and in Erkki’s native Estonia (a small country in northern Europe).
But above all else, we love getting to teach our son and his friends about the amazing world around them -- so much so that Cheryl left her job as an attorney to be a stay at home mom.
Please take a moment to look around our website and get to know us a bit. We are already court-certified as adoptive parents so we are fully “paper ready,” and we’re happy to travel to wherever in the country you may be.

Making an adoption plan for your child is an extraordinary gift of love, and we would be honored to be a part of that journey.
